If you have smaller guests coming to your wedding it's important to include one or two little elements to keep them (and their parents!) happy. The simplest way to is with wedding favours, or little activity packs for each child. Today, I've gathered the best kids wedding favour ideas, guaranteed to keep younger guests entertained. Lots of these favours can be bought relatively cheap, or if you're crafty you could DIY the simpler ones too. What's more, you could even use some of these for the grown ups too...
1. Old School Games
Classic children's games such as Xs and Os, Hang-man, Snap and Jacks are all classic ways to keep kids entertained, whether at a wedding or even just at a party. If you have lots of children at your wedding you could even set up a kids table with a variety of these games, or alternatively have a surprise favour sitting at each child's seat.
Find them: In Tiger or Dealz, or for something more snazzy check out the options in Avoca.
2. Fun Temporary Tattoos
Temporary tattoos are everywhere at the moment, and are a fun bang on trend wedding favour for kids. Mix them up for boys and girls, or go totally bespoke with your very own custom temporary tats. Not just for kids, these would also make a quirky favour for grown ups, especially for a hen party favour.
Find them: For online shoppers Pea Green Boat and Tattly are great options. Alternatively you can find these in most highstreet stores such as Topshop and Urban Outfitters.
3. Sweets & Treats
Looking for a real crowd pleasing kids wedding favour? Well then you can't go wrong with a selection of yummy sweets and treats. Some of our favourites include: Kinder Eggs, little bags of Haribo jelly (wedding) rings, mini packs of loveheart candies, popcorn, candy necklaces and the adorable DIY bunny macaron pops pictured above, but really the options are endless. Like the tattoos these favours would go down just as well with adults as the kids.
Find them: Just about anywhere from your local newsagents or supermarket to more specialist confectioners such as McCarrons Candy, MM Cookies, Laduree and Cornude Popcorn.
4. Girly Gifts - Friendship Bracelets & Nail Polish
If you're having lots of little girls at your wedding why not go all out and treat them to a proper little girl's wedding favour? DIY friendship bracelets are a wonderful option as they are both inexpensive and will keep your little guests busy while mom and dad are mingling. Other cute choices are nail art stickers, personalised badges, kids nail polish, or a toy you know they love, such as a mini My Little Pony or Polly Pocket.
Find them: Arts and crafts stores, Paperchase and highstreet toy stores such as Smyths or Toys R Us.
5. Arts & Crafts To Keep Them Occupied
Another classic wedding favour for kids is colouring books and crafty supplies. There are loads of wedding related colouring books and sets, but you can just as easily make up your own. If the rest of your décor is rustic you could even use one of your mason jars to hold a set of crayons for each kid. Mala, plasticine or modelling clay is another good pick, but it's best to stay away from markers or paint (which can easily stain pricey wedding guest outfits).
Find them: Etsy and Not On The Highstreet for specialised wedding sets or high street toy stores for something more classic.
6. Playful Dress Up Fun
Lastly, why not keep kids entertained with some dress up wedding favours? Probably more aimed towards girls but who's to say little boys can't dress up too? If you'd like to have these kind of favours Halloween is a great time to stock up, or if you're crafty you could make some fun DIY props too. These favours would be a particularly good idea if you're having a photobooth as both the kids and grown ups can then use them to get some fun snaps!
Find them: Etsy, Tiger, Penneys/Primark and Accessorize or The Favour Shop for fun photobooth style props.
