Get ready to swoon as you re-live their special day through the images lensed by Carola Scandella.
Let's begin by learning more about our newlyweds. Natasha is from the US while Remco hails from The Netherlands. Today, the couple live in Singapore and that's actually where their love story began. "We met at one of Singapore's amazing rooftop bars with a breathtaking view of the Marina Bay. We found ourselves drawn to each other, meeting for coffee nearly every day for over a week. It wasn't long before our connection blossomed into a beautiful relationship, marking the beginning of our journey together."
Remco pulled out all the stops to blow his future wife away when he popped the question and the location was integral to the unforgettable nature of the moment. "Remco's proposal was a truly remarkable surprise that took place at The Raffles Hotel, one of Singapore's most renowned and elegant establishments. With incredible finesse, he had orchestrated a plan involving the hotel staff to play along. Under the guise of a lunch outing, he led me to believe we were simply going to enjoy a meal. However, he had secretly reserved one of the opulent grand suites. As I entered the suite, my eyes were greeted by a trail of delicate rose petals strewn across the floor, leading to a magnificent bouquet of flowers. It was at this moment, surrounded by such beauty, that Remco knelt down on one knee and asked the most important question of our lives: 'Will you marry me?' The atmosphere was undeniably romantic, and my heart swelled with joy. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world, and I said yes without hesitation!"
The couple fell in love with their venue, Palazzo Gallio on the shores of Lake Como, long before they even set foot on its grounds. It was the astonishing view and the captivating balcony that sealed the deal and proved it was 'the one' for them. "Its sheer beauty, perched atop the lake, left us utterly speechless. Our hearts were captured by its allure, and our love for it grew exponentially. We can't help but dream of returning one day, perhaps with our little one in tow, to relive the magic once more." They wanted the natural beauty of the location and venue to shine through, so they kept the decor elegant and understated.
Natasha exuded chicness in her strapless gown by New York-based designer Antonio Gual which featured a fit-and-flare silhouette and a sweetheart neckline. She accessorised with a pair of glamorous embellished Aquazzura heels and an uber-pretty pearl veil. Natasha added a sweet sentimental touch with her jewellery, as she wore vintage pearl earrings from her grandmother. Groom Remco looked ultra-dapper in a light grey which was given a stylish pop of contrast with his black accessories.
We can only imagine how special it was for the pair to tie the knot in such an idyllic setting in front of their beloved. "Our wedding was an intimate and profoundly romantic affair, a testament to our love story. Surrounded by the warmth and presence of our close friends and family members, we embarked on our next chapter together. The bond we share was not only witnessed but also wholeheartedly celebrated by those who hold a special place in our hearts. We wanted our celebration to be a gathering of the people who mean the world to us, coming together to mark this significant moment in our lives."
A harpist and a violinist provided the soundtrack to their incredibly beautiful ceremony. "Their harmonious performance became an unforgettable highlight of our special day." We're just going to pause right here to say what we're all thinking. The views were beyond dreamy!
It's official!
The couple wanted to craft an experience that resonated with their values and their love story that paved the way for their magical wedding day. "We prioritised intimate moments with our closest friends and family, making the day feel like an authentic celebration of our connection. The heartfelt vows we wrote for each other, the touching speeches our loved ones gave, and the personalised touches throughout the event all contributed to the day's uniqueness."
They were "deeply moved" when their friends surprised them with a beautiful handcrafted keepsake. "It added an element of surprise and joy to the occasion. Overall, it was the combination of these thoughtful elements that made our wedding day an incredibly special and personal experience."
The couple kept with the pristine, airy aesthetic when it came to the reception tables that were dressed with white flowers and carefully-placed white candles.
Natasha opted for a dazzling dress change as she switched into a sparkling, semi-sheer beaded gown for her reception. The champagne shade of her twinkling gown married sublimely with the neutral aesthetic of their banquet.
When it comes to wedding planning, the couple says that communication is key and to focus on your relationship. "Planning your wedding day is a deeply personal and meaningful process, and it's essential to prioritise what matters most to you as a couple. Remember that the wedding is just the beginning of your life together. Keep the focus on your love and commitment to each other."
The couple jumped on the wedding cake meadow trend and their two-tier cake with a beautiful big bow made a lush and romantic statement. For their first dance as husband and wife, they chose Ellie Goulding's heartstring-pulling ballad How Long Will I Love You. As for the honeymoon, Natasha and Remco admit they've got a "strong desire" to return to Italy with a "particular longing to explore the enchanting destinations of Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello". Can we blame them?
