When we first stumbled upon the dreamy imagery of Alice and Teddy's real wedding, we were convinced it was set on the idyllic rolling hills of Italy nestled within acres of vineyards! Would you believe this exquisite wedding took place on the Norfolk Coast, in the UK on a beautiful September's day. Our couple had a vision for their beautiful venue that came to life, a modern and minimal Art Deco wedding aesthetic! The bride's background in floristry shone through with the most awe-worthy floral displays, paired with a black-tie style. Before we show you the beautiful imagery by photographer Georgia Rachael, we recommend you get those Pinterest boards out!
Alice and Teddy's love story began back in 2018 in their local pub when Alice was celebrating her birthday with family and friends. "Teddy was there and after a few too many beers. He began chatting up my mum who then introduced us. We spent the next few hours chatting and getting to know each other and I was disappointed when Ted did not ask for my number. However, four months later Ted messaged me on Instagram asking to go on a date - better late than never! It’s safe to say the date was worth the wait!" she says. As their relationship flourished, Ted proposed at one of their favourite beaches in North Norfolk when the couple took their dog Merlot on a cold winter’s day walk. "The proposal was very unexpected and was the first time I have been speechless… ever!" says Alice. "It was very understated however it was very romantic and natural, it felt very us!"
Personalised and pretty hanger name tags really make the details pop. As for the green velvet Jimmy Choo bridal shoes, all we can say is we adore it when a bride adds a splash of chic colour to her look with her shoes and these are a sensational and highly rewearable style choice.
The wedding aesthetic was a reflection of Alice's personal taste and a culmination of her years of experience in floristry. Having worked at her family’s florist throughout her teenage years, working with weddings on so many occasions, Alice knew exactly what she wanted when her day arrived. "I always dreamed of my wedding day and knew the exact vibe I wanted! Classic, modern meets Art Deco with a touch of glam and therefore we asked all of our guests to dress in black tie. Our colour theme was black and white with a touch of emerald green, which is both of our favourite colours," she says.
Jessica Rabbit soft curls and a classic winged eye - old Hollywood glamour at its best. Alice's radiant beauty look was thanks to her talented sister Lily who did the wedding makeup.
There were a number of elements that made this wedding day extra special, in paticular the fact that close friends and family all having the luxury of staying in the wedding venue the night before, having a stress-free day with no travel! Other special momens included Teddy's mum gifting his late father's cufflinks to wear on the day, something which must have been a very emotional moment for them both. "The wedding morning felt very chilled and relaxed, the bridal party spent the morning getting ready whilst listening to our favourite Beyonce songs. Also, having my auntie and cousin do my wedding flowers was so special. Myself and my cousin Abi spent so many years working at the florist dreaming and talking about our wedding days. I always knew I was in safe hands with my flowers however it’s safe to say they absolutely blew me away!"
The outdoor ceremony decor was timeless, elegant and celebrating a chic neutral palette! From the ceremony arch, and the modern black metal signage, paired with minimal text and garnished with white florals and pillared candles,to the chair tags. The couple cleverly added the order of service to their confetti bags too.
"I made the decision for my mum to walk me down the aisle and it was the best decision I made and a moment I will treasure forever," says Alice. It's easy to see where Alice gets her style savoir faire.
Alice's Jane Hill dress, was embellished head to toe in intricate beaded embroidery, and was a timeless choice. Teddy the groom, alongside his groomsmen, sported a black-tie three-piece suits that also embraced classic elegance. The bridesmaids and adorable flower girl in forest green velvet added to the glamour.
The couple's main priority when planning their dream day was ensuring everyone had the best time – with lots of dancing! To achieve this, they had a brass band after the ceremony during the al fresco drinks reception to liven things up from the start!
The wedding venue that stole the couple's hearts was Voewood, a unique and charming Arts and Crafts country house nestled on the Norfolk coast. "We absolutely loved the Art Deco look of Voewood and felt that it suited the theme we had in mind. It also felt so homely which we preferred to a polished venue as it gave it a “house party” feel. Words can’t express how much the venue just felt like us as a couple," says Alice. The selling point for Teddy was the exclusive underground nightclub, we totally get it!
It's not Art Deco without a champagne tower, right? Jay Gatsby would approve!
When it came to solid wedding advice, the couple say: "Don’t stress about the small details! Focus your energy on the big stuff like food, drink, and music. People won’t notice all the small stuff. Stay true to yourselves and let the day represent you as a couple – don’t do things that you think are the 'done thing to do'. Sounds very cliché but soak up every moment as it goes by so quickly!"
The wedding look spilled spectacularly from the grounds into the evening reception space with more monochrome magic awaiting guests and an abundance of foliage, flowers and soft candlelight. "Ted was the most chilled-out groom and let me lead on most of the aesthetic. It's safe to say I spent many many hours scrolling Pinterest in the year leading up to our wedding. I was drawn to the more modern minimalist look of white and black however knew I had to get a bit of green in somewhere!"

Black tapered candles, black-knotted napkins, fairy lights and a gold-speckled buttercream wedding cake - be still our beating hearts. This wedding has come together sublimely!
As both lovebirds are huge foodies, they wanted to make sure the day was filled with delicious food. They chose a gorgeous Italian spread full of meats, cheeses and much more. There were even pizzas on the dance floor!
The newlyweds jetted off on their honeymoon straight from their wedding venue to the airport and spent a week on the Amalfi Coast. "We stayed in Positano, and it was the most magical week. We visited Capri, hired a vintage Alfa Romeo spider and hiked along the coastal cliffs!"
Stevie Wonder's Signed Sealed Delivered was the fun and romantic soundtrack for Alice and Teddy's first dance as a married couple!
