On a crisp January day, our real wedding couple Lara and Tom exchanged their vows in a romantic, effortlessly stylish civil ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall. Covering the legal part ahead of their larger spring celebration, the couple tied the knot surrounded by a small group of 14 of their closest friends and family. Featuring supremely chic bridal suiting and a spectacular photoshoot utilising the city's iconic architecture as a backdrop, Lara and Tom's charming nuptials were captured by We Are The James's below!
Before diving headfirst into the details of their special day, let's get to know the happy couple a bit more! The London-based pair originally met in 2017 while they were both working at a marketing agency. With Tom dressed as a pirate and Lara as a lion, they got together at the Sports Day Summer Party (bonding over the egg and spoon race!). Fast forward to their sweet proposal, Tom popped the question while the pair were out walking their dog Ozzie together at the top of Primrose Hill.
In the spectacular surrounds of Chelsea Town Hall, Lara and Tom celebrated their marriage with a relaxed and low-key civil ceremony. Having always loved the historic building, the venue felt to them as being "quintessentially London." Making their grand exit as newlyweds, the couple emerged from the hall to a flurry of bubbles and colourful confetti with their intimate group of guests by their side.
With a beautiful rose, thistle and dahlia bouquet in hand, glowing bride Lara wanted to wear a suit from the very start – it was just about finding the right one. Her effortlessly stylish bridal look was composed of a fabulous Rowley Hesselballe white suit which was rented from UK based outlet HURR. To complete her ensemble, she added a pair of sharp Jimmy Choo heels that she sourced from pre-loved style site Vestiaire Collective, paired with a Chanel quilted bag and antique jewellery belonging to her mum as a sweet something borrowed for her special day.
Lara and Tom had this advice for any couples embarking on their own wedding journey: "Divide and conquer your wedding planning. At first, it might seem romantic to tackle every task together, but we found it far more manageable to split up the to-do list. It’s a lot harder to get things done when each decision is made by committee!"
Following their stunning photoshoot on the streets of London and a chic evening reception in Bluebird restaurant, Lara and Tom had set a date for a second celebration in April. After their busy wedding festivities, the couple are planning to go to Kenya on a safari for their well-deserved honeymoon: "We both love animals and adventure, so it feels like the perfect choice for us."
