Boy, do we have a winter wedding with a super sweet twist for you! Real wedding couple Chloe and Roger tied the knot in a fabulous festive wedding at Boyne Hill House Estate in Co. Meath which had a stunning saccherine colour theme and a retro edge. It couldn't have been a more ideal spot to exchange vows, given the elegant wedding venue is famed for its pastel pink Georgian mansion fit for a real-life Barbie girl. Romantic pops of pink abounded from girly gypsophila to the mix and match bridesmaids dresses in soft and bold shades of pink which were beyond fabulous. Chloe wowed with her demure wedding gown with a whimsical feather twist and their wedding ceremony in the romantic Conservatory is not to be missed. The couple's colourful and groovy wedding stationery made us smile as did the appearance for their adorable dog Ginny. Captured by Folklore Photography, let's take a look at their stunning Boyne Hill House wedding album and get ready to swoon over the fun-centric details from their big day.
So, let's learn more about our newlyweds. They met on their very first day of college in DIT in 2012 and Chloe's friend had a sneaky suspicion that their paths would cross again. "Roger walked in and sat in front of me and my friend Romy said, 'You’re definitely going to pull him' and she wasn’t wrong."
When time came to propose, Roger cooked up a rouse to surprise Chloe. She reveals that he insisted on cooking them dinner that night and he went to the Asian Market in Dublin to pick up the perfect ingredients. "He was gone for hours and I was messaging him to see if he was ok. I was looking forward to staying in and relaxing on the sofa with our dog Ginny."
Roger came home with all the ingredients for dinner plus a bottle of champagne and when she quizzed him about it he threw her off the scent by saying everyone was picking up a bottle. "I thought nothing of it other than Roger with his rogue choices in the shop, he’s not used to that. Then he went into the bathroom to unwrap the box. When he came out he got down on one knee."
"I never thought for a second he was doing it that day, and getting engaged at home never crossed my mind. But he wanted to do it in our favourite place, our home, which was absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t want it any other way." They celebrated by heading to one of their favourite haunts, A Fianco in Stoneybatter.
When it came to their wedding day, the couple dreamt of tying the knot in December. They wanted a wedding venue that was close to home where they could hold both their ceremony and reception. "It was important to us that everyone could stay at the venue and they did."
As for the aesthetic of their big day, they chose a playful pink and green theme. "We didn’t want anything traditional and wanted it to be more fun and more us."
They fell head over heels for the elegant country estate nestled in the heart of the Boyne Valley. "They had me at the pink house. The grounds are so gorgeous and the Manor House was done up stunning for Christmas when we viewed!"
Roger and his groomsmen looked superbly sharp in their black tuxes which were matched with crisp white shirts, black velvet bowties and black shoes. Along with a handsome watch, Roger added vintage cufflinks to complete his wedding day attire.
Glowing bride Chloe enchanted us with her bias-cut silk long-sleeve wedding dress which had a fabulous feather hem. She added an elbow-length veil which boasted a beautiful satin bow and she slipped into a pair of metallic platform designer heels.
Chloe's bridesmaids ticked off so many of this year's hottest bridesmaid dress trends in one incredibly stylish swoop. Not only did they nail tonal mix and match bridesmaids gowns from pale blush to bright bubblegum but they also played with textures ranging from airy chiffon to twinkling sequins and regal brocades.
We always need to have tissues nearby whenever it comes to first look photos between brides and their dads. How touching is this moment shared between Chloe and her father?
The wedding signage and invites were full of character and colour all of which centred around an illustration of the soon-to-be newlyweds. "My amazingly talented friend and bridesmaid Hollie Delany drew an illustration of me and Roger when we bought our house in 2021 and we used that picture throughout. Everything had that ‘branding’ from our invites to the tops of the Guinness!"
The couple tied the knot in The Conservatory. The intimate ceremony space has a rustic allure with the exposed stone cut walls while velvet pink Chiavari chairs bring a sense of gentle opulance. A statement winter foliage display hung overhead for their ceremony while delicate sprigs of foliage were wrapped around the pendant lights.
The journey to the ceremony space is magical, as it is tucked away within the Manor House and accessed through a hidden passageway.
119 of their nearest and dearest joined them to celebrate their marriage on December 8th, 2023.
We bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house as Chloe walked down the aisle to The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice. The couple opted for a rustic ceremony arch display which was adorned with baby's breath and festive foliage.
From the airport quote in Love Actually to the graduation monologue in One Day, film and TV provide endless inspiration when it comes to ceremony readings. The couple chose The Priest's Speech from Phoebe Waller-Bridge's well-loved show Fleabag.
It is definitely one of the more unique ceremony readings we have featured and we love it for its realistic but hopeful message.
The couple's cute whippet Ginny made an appearance in their wedding photos, of course. What a sweet moment.
Dating back to the 1700s, each room in the Manor House is decorated tastefully to complement the original Georgian features so they make for a breathtaking backdrop for any glamorous wedding celebration, as Chloe and Roger's photos clearly show.
Set on 38 acres of rolling, green, private parkland, the wedding venue is renowned for its charming grounds. From the romantic Victorian walled garden to the enchanting woodland, there are so many wonderful spaces outdoors for wedding photos.
The couple stole some time alone ahead of the reception to soak in the splendour of the estate, just the two of them.
They were so thrilled with their wedding photos. "Dzifa is so easy to deal with and makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed on the day. The pictures came back so quick and are absolutely amazing! We couldn’t recommend her more!"
Dancing doesn't have to be the only activity on your big day. Chloe and Roger came up with a wonderful way to keep their guests entertained as they mingled at the drinks reception as they hired a caricature artist.
Chloe was full of love and joy as she reminisced about their special day: "It was the best day as it’s all your favourite people all in one room and they’re all there for you!"
Wedding table names are a simple and fun way to add personality to your wedding reception and Chloe and Roger opted to use their fave pubs as theirs.
Their reception styling incorporated the delicate mix of pastel shades with light green tablecloths and velvet pink Chiavari chairs. Brass candlesticks added a dash of gilded glamour.
The table name settings were created in fun star shaped plaques while pink and white candy canes were decorated with bright pink satin bows. We have to tip our digital hats to their attention to detail, they had personalised beer mats, matchstick boxes and even a groovy mirror.
There was a dash of festive magic in the space as striking foliage adorned the windows dashed with fairy lights while the banisters were also draped with twinkly garlands.
The reception room was given an even more ethereal edge with the glittering foliage above and the sparkling chandeliers.
When it comes to wedding planning advice, Chloe says: "Enjoy it and don’t stress - everything somehow all comes together in the end and it is the best day ever!"
There are so many festive wedding cake options but Chloe and Roger's cake certainly had a summery disposition. Their retro-inspired Lambeth heart shape cake mixed light pink and green icing with sweet floral accents and it was surrounded by bouquets of pink baby's breath on the display table.
They say a picture paints a thousand words and we are positive that the couple and their nearest and dearest had an absolute ball on the night. Chloe and Roger chose My Lady's on Fire by Ty Segall as their first dance song. Dance Til Dawn had everyone on the dancefloor into the early hours.
Reflecting on their dream wedding come to life, Chloe said it was an "amazing experience from start to finish. "I wouldn’t change a thing! It was perfect in every way - a chilled day with our favourite people." They held their day two party in Dublin. For their honeymoon they jetted off to New York City and Greece to celebrate.
Congratulations Chloe and Roger and thank you for sharing your fabulously fun wedding with One Fab Day. We would also like to say a very special thank you to Folklore Photography for the incredible images.
