Immersed in the grandeur of an historic Georgian country house, our real wedding couple Síofra and Rosie exchanged vows in the magnificent Gloster House. Featuring a fresh green palette with pops of wildflower hues, a mouthwatering six-layer cheese wedding cake, peacocks and a spectacular photoshoot on the grounds of the 18th-century estate, this charming celebration is not to be missed! From their lusciously styled ceremony to their joy-filled reception, DK Photo was there to capture the couple's day in all its glory! Check out Síofra and Rosie's wonderful wedding below!

Before diving into the details of Síofra and Rosie's special day, let's get to know them a bit more! The pair's paths crossed in 2019 when they were working together in the Mater Hospital: "At first we weren’t sure if the other was interested, but we made excuses to see each other on the wards". In the end it was Síofra who chased Rosie and asked her for a drink: "After a four hour phone call one night, we both realised this was something special."

Fast forward to their sweet proposal story, Rosie planned to pop the question while they were on a trip to Bangor with their beloved pooch Tommy: "One day we took Tommy for a walk on the beach and Rosie suggested we stop at a nice spot and sit down. We were chatting when Rosie started fumbling with a dickie bow for Tommy." With Síofra not having any idea as to what was happening, Rosie pulled out a ring from her handbag and asked her to marry her.

On the morning of their May wedding day, Síofra and Rosie got ready together with their bridal party who wore dark sage green dresses which their vibrant florals really popped against. But they got into our dresses separately as neither of them had seen the other's dress until the sweet first look they did before the ceremony.

Knowing that the impressive Gloster House was 'the one' from the outset, Síofra and Rosie didn't visit any wedding venue besides the historic country home: "We knew as soon as we visited the venue for the first time . Nigel, Mary and Tom were so welcoming and accommodating. They have created a beautiful, exquisite venue that also has a very relaxed vibe – we loved this! We always envisioned getting married in a ‘manor-style’ venue, somewhere with a beautiful ceremony room was important to us as we weren’t getting married in a church."

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Síofra and Rosie exchanged vows in the bright and airy White Chapel ceremony space in Gloster House, with the page boys looking dapper in navy suits complete with rainbow pocket squares. It meant a lot to the couple to have those they love included in their big day: "Rosie’s godson was responsible for passing the wedding rings around as part of the ring warming ceremony. Our brothers lit our family candles and Síofra’s brother gave us our wedding rings to exchange during the ceremony." Their favourite piece of ceremony music was when Rosie's brother Eamonn and Síofra’s childhood friend, Audrey performed a rendition of Mary Lambert's She Keeps Me Warm.

From the beginning, the couple's priorities for their wedding day were that: "everyone felt comfortable, included and had good fun with good food, drinks and music!", alongside "lots of laughs, fun and dancing!"

With the sun shining down on their outdoor reception, the couple's wedding aesthetic was influenced by the historic grandeur of the country home: "We didn’t have to add much in terms of décor to Gloster House as it is such a beautiful venue. Mary, the owner, decorated the tables and chapel with greenery from the garden – it was simple and beautiful. One of our bridesmaids, Rachael, had a beautiful wooden welcome sign made for us and was also in charge of writing the table plan on a beautiful ornate mirror supplied by Gloster House."

Providing the soundtrack for the couple's special day were The Canapé Cruisers and The Panoramics: "The Panoramics and their reception-duo the Canapé Cruisers were also fantastic! Lots of our friends and family also gave them a special mention to us after the day. There was so much dancing! Great music and also so lovely to work with, they took our requests into consideration also – which made the evening so special and personal!" 

Síofra and Rosie had this advice for couples embarking on their own wedding planning journey: "Communicate with each other about what you both want out of the day – and don’t stress too much about the small things. In the end, the day is all about having a good time and celebrating love with the people you love!"

Our glowing brides wore phenomenal geometric Varca and Pronovias lace gowns, with Síofra wearing her grandmother’s wedding ring and Rosie wearing her mother's ring: "Other things that made the day really special were having our rings made from jewellery belonging to loved ones that are no longer with us. It made us feel as though they were with us on our day."

The couple's fun-filled reception went on to include an impressive six-layer cheese wheel wedding cake, a mostly veggie menu for the vegetarian couple and a first dance to The Cranberries' Dreams: "We wanted a song by an Irish band and Rosie has always loved the lyrics to this song."

After their busy wedding festivities, Síofra and Rosie jetted off on their well-deserved honeymoon to Greece, visiting Athens and then Mykonos. "We loved it. We were so tired, it was so lovely to just relax for a few days in our post-wedding bubble together!"
