Dreaming of a destination wedding? Jessica and Colin's wedding in Italy will inspire you endlessly. The couple tied the knot at Borgo Di Tragliata outside Rome in a rustic three-day celebration that was full of style and joy. Jessica was breathtaking in intricate lace, her bridesmaids served up sunset glamour in their satin gowns in rich rust and roses in delicate shades were married exquisitely with olive and eucalyptus. Their outdoor ceremony set in the rolling hills of the dreamy venue included a dazzling floral display and a heartwarming ceremony reading penned by the groom himself about the night he met the woman of his dreams. Their reception had a relaxed and amorous air and they ramped up the celebrations with a magical fireworks display. So, let's kick off by getting to know our newlyweds more. Jessica and Colin are both from Galway and that is where they love story began. They first crossed paths in the Irish pub Monroe's in the city in 2010 and their lives changed forever.
When the time came to ask Jessica the all-important question, Colin picked a stunning City of the Tribes location to do so. He proposed by the lake of a sublime manor house in Terryglass. Today, they live in London.
The couple imagined their wedding being a three-day celebration with their favourite people in the breathtaking Italian countryside. Their wedding venue, Borgo Di Tragliata which is located in an ancient village on the outskirts of Rome, delivered on all counts.
They wanted to tie the knot outdoors and they needed their venue to house all their guests who were making the journey to celebrate. It was the history and the scenery of the organic farm that they fell in love with.
"The picturesque venue origins date back to the Etruscan era. The venue is surrounded by beautiful greenery such as olive trees and there are two sixth-century houses where guests can stay." They set their date for June 16th, 2023, and 130 of their nearest and dearest joined them to celebrate.
When it came to the styling the couple collaborated with the venue planner to bring their dream day to life and they let the enchanting scenery shine bright. Jessica opted for an evocative mix of flowers and foliage with white and pink roses blended with olive and eucalyptus leaves.
Jessica looked utterly phenomenal in her exceptional wedding gown which boasted intricate lace, geometric trims, an exposed back, a dipped waist and a curved skirt. She accessorised with a dreamy cathedral veil, chunky block wedding heels with floral accents and her something blue came courtesy of her blue gem and pearl drop earrings.
As her wedding scent, she chose a fresh and crisp perfume by Jo Malone, Silver Birch and Lavender.
Orange bridesmaids dresses couldn't be more perfect for evoking a sunshine state of mind during a destination wedding. Jessica's bridesmaids looked sensational in rust satin mix and match bridesmaids dresses with varying necklines.
Colin and his groomsmen exuded slickness wearing navy suits with crisp white shirts, black bow ties and black shoes. The couple exchanged vows in a garden ceremony and the sun shone down resplendently. There was a beautiful botanical twist as roses in delicate shades of blush and cream were displayed on tall brass pillars.
Sweetly, Jessica's uncle Pat acted as their celebrant. "He was the heart and soul behind the ceremony making it incredibly special and meaningful for everyone. He had a beautiful way of capturing our relationship that really resonated with all who were there. It was so lovely to see everyone leaving with smiles, feeling a strong sense of love and connection to us as a couple."
While Jessica loved all the ceremony readings, one holds an extremely special place in her heart. It was the poem that Colin wrote about the night they first met. It read: "Beneath the moonlit sky, Monroe's awakens. The Corrib River and winding canals, our guide. In the embrace of Claddagh's chiming tune, We set sail, unburdened and free, hand in hand."
"Through tranquil waters, we glide with ease, Unfazed by ripples that stir the basin, Navigating the currents, without a rudder, Yet feeling safe in the embrace of our love. As dawn breaks, the sun slashes through the air, Its warm rays caressing our entwined hands."
"With each breath, a new chapter unfolds, For the journey commences in Galway Bay." We bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
From a romantic wander amongst the olive trees to kisses by the farmhouse, the couple made the most of the magical grounds for their wedding photos which are so full of joy and love.
The charming surrounds coupled with the tranquil atmosphere and the welcoming and superbly attentive team has made this Italian venue so popular for destination weddings.
They held their reception outdoors too and the tables were dressed with olive and eucalyptus leaves while tall candles brought a truly romantic glow.
There are so many ways to remember loved ones at your wedding. The couple had a memory table which honoured the memory of love ones no longer with them.
When it comes to wedding planning, they advise engaged couples to try and enjoy the journey. "Be present because the time will pass by too quickly and you’ll be wishing to relive it all again."
Jessica also highlighted the wise words they lived by when it came to the big day itself. "The best advice we received was to stick by each other's side for every moment of the day so you can share all the memories together."
Later, the couple toasted to their happily ever after by popping a bottle of bubbly and watching a dazzling fireworks display. What an epic moment! For their first dance they chose Let's Stay Together by Al Green.
They celebrated by honeymooning across the south of Italy visiting Naples, Sorrento and Capri. "We would highly recommend a stay at the Imperial Hotel Tramontano. Aside from the hotel being beautiful, the staff were great and there is a private lift within the cliffs that take you down to the beach. The breakfast was incredible."
